In August of 2005, http://www.rebelrivers.com/ officially debuted on the interweb with a post about the RRCC's representation in the Wilson County Demolition Derby. (Archives here).

Three years later, Kirly is back behind the wheel. He will be entering the Full Size Car division on August 23, 2008 at 7:00 pm.

"Full Size" to Kirk means a 1973 Chrylser New Yorker - 440 cu.in. V8, 19 feet 3 inches long and over 6-1/2 feet wide. In its ads, Chrysler compared it to the Apollo command module. Yet it is still in compliance with the 2008 Wilson County Demolition Derby Rules: "Any American made stock, hardtop, automobile is allowed. No trucks, convertibles, jeeps, hearses, limousines, station wagons, or Chrysler Imperials are allowed."

Makes you wonder what's so special about a Chyrsler Imperial and should we get one to tow the canoe trailer. Especially because we'll be pulling two trailers after we buy this full size smoker:

Who wants to go? Mike, your event is Monday.
